Freedom Road Rally Dream Vacation
Freedom Road Rally is happy to announce that for 2008 their classic car enthusiast’s dream vacation will be routed in the picturesque Carolinas. Freedom Road is an annual classic car touring road rally that provides its participants with the vacation experience of a lifetime. This fantastic adventure will last seven days and will cover over 1,200 miles using pre-1974 vehicles. In addition to traveling some of the prettiest roads on the Carolinas, participants will also be viewing some of the finest transportation museums and collections in the country.
This year’s event will be June 1st – 7th and will start and end in Charlotte, NC. The event will spend a day in the Charlotte area visiting museums, collections, and race shops in the area. From there the event will travel into South Carolina, then to Georgia, Tennessee, up the Blue Ridge Parkway, and then loop back to Charlotte. During their travels, participants will be able to enjoy some fantastic museums, a factory tour, race shop tours, the Biltmore Estate, and some fantastic scenery. The variety of activities that this event will encompass is sure to make this the trip of a lifetime. The entry fee is a tremendous value at $1,950 per couple and car, which covers entrance into the event, six nights of hotels, all museums, special activities, the final dinner, and the ability to create some lifelong memories. The overall route stays primarily on back roads and state routes with speeds averaging 50-55mph. This allows participants to see some fantastic sites during the day as well as still have energy to enjoy the evening stops. The overall style of the event will be set up similarly to the vintage European road rallies, where the overall goal is to see some fantastic sites through the day and to enjoy the evening’s festivities.
