2012 EVENTS

June 3-8 — Wisconsin          September 9-14 — North Carolina

 

WISCONSIN  – June 3-8, 2012

Wisconsin is a beautiful, scenic state with terrific destinations. The start end/point will be in the Milwaukee area. One of our stops will be the Wisconsin Automotive Museum in Hartford, which has over 100 cars on display. We will be visiting the staff of Old Cars Weekly at their headquarters in Iola. House On The Rock is an amazing creation that came from one man’s boundless imagination. It is a unique architectural marvel that could be described as part house, part museum and part circus. The Wisconsin Dells is an area of lakes and unique rock formations which we will explore aboard vintage WWII amphibious vehicles. Scenic driving will include  Kettle Moraine Scenic drive and a portion of the beautiful Wisconsin coastline dotted with lighthouses. Other museums will include the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, the Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture Museum, the National Railroad Museum, Circus World Museum and the Volo Auto Museum. You can’t beat the summers in Wisconsin. There will be something for everyone.*

NORTH CAROLINA – September 9-14, 2012

In September of 2012 we will reprise the 2008 Carolinas rally. The start/end point will be in the Charlotte area. In 2008, the favorite stop on the trip was the Biltmore Estate. The Biltmore is an amazing experience. It is considered the best house tour in the country. We will also tour the Dennis Carpenter factory. Dennis Carpenter manufactures Ford restoration parts. The C. Grier Beam Truck Museum has great exhibits tracing the fascinating history of Carolina Trucking, and all the trucks are the right color, red. We will travel the beautifully scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. We received a call from the curator of Wheels Through Time motorcycle museum. He heard that Freedom Road was returning to the Carolinas and wanted us to know that they would be delighted to see us again. Of course, there will be NASCAR stops too including Memory Lane. We’re looking forward to going back there and showing this great area to folks who didn’t get to go with us in 2008.*
