Each day typically combines a scenic drive during the day with stops for museum tours and other points of interest. Some evening activities are planned such as a cruise-in or game night and the victory dinner. Other evening activities, like a bull session in the hotel parking lot, are spontaneous. The driving portion of the event is primarily kept to back roads and state routes with speeds following the posted limit, usually under 55 mph. Participant’s vehicles should be able to perform at these speeds consistently. A sweep vehicle follows the event in case of breakdown. Enough free time is scheduled to allow participants to enjoy local restaurants and shops.
Each day begins with a morning driver’s meeting where participants are given an instruction packet that contains written directions of that day’s route, a schedule for the day, and points of interest along the way. Participants drive the route at their own pace, taking as much or as little time as they desire at the different stops. If a specific time and place commitment must be met because the group has a reservation, this will be stated in the directions and covered in the morning driver’s meeting. It is important to stay on the directed route so that the sweep driver can locate any broken down vehicles.
One of the best things about the Freedom Road Rally is the interaction of the participants with each other and local people along the way. Through the course of the week some fantastic friendships are formed that will continue long after the event. The people that are met along the way and the friendships that are formed are the most unique aspect of this event.

Fantastic event, great participants, outstanding organizers.
